While use of trusted e-mail hosts, anti-virus software, and firewalls can protect you from the vast majority of malicious attempts to gain unauthorized access to your systems, there have been a large number or e-mail based viruses or worms that have caused great problems for businesses worldwide. One of the most recent, pervasive attacks has been delivered in the form of the MyDOOM virus and it variants. Microsoft has taken great steps to assist their customers with resources to identify this attack against users of the Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express products.
